Membership Level change

You have selected the Veterinarian membership level.

IVPA welcomes all veterinarians no matter ownership status, with a few restrictions.  No member of IVPA shall be employed as a senior executive (director level or higher) by a publicly traded or privately held NATIONAL practice.  Owners of multiple practices may be excluded from membership if the practice could be considered NATIONAL in scope.  A national practice is defined as an organization which owns multiple veterinary hospitals across numerous states with centralized management such as purchasing, human resources and facilities management.  Owner(s) of national practices do not participate in oversight or management decisions at individual practice locations.  NOTE: The dollar amount shown below is in US dollars and is for an annual (12 month) membership.

Benefits of Membership as a Veterinarian:

  • Promoted as an Independent Practice** to pet owners
  • Voting rights in the IVPA

**  Practice Owners are encouraged to register at the Practice Owner membership level for additional marketing materials and IVPA efforts to promote your practices to the public as independently owned and locally operated.  The individual Veterinarian membership level is intended more for associate veterinarians who wish to have voting rights within the IVPA and who may someday own their own practice.

The price for membership is $75.00 every 12 Months.

  • Sit on the board or employed as a senior executive (director level or higher) of a publicly traded veterinary practice
  • Act as legal council to a publicly traded or privately owned national practice
  • Own a controlling or majority interest in a privately held national practice.
  • Employed as a senior executive (director level or higher) in a privately held national practice.
  • Membership may be denied or restricted should an applicant privately own multiple practices, such that there would be little expectation the applicant could play a role in direct oversite of individual practices and would be considered to own a national practice
